If you’re planning your holidays, occasionally one of the last bits to be recalled is how you’re getting to the airport. Do you opt for a coach, train or taxi? Often the most leisurely way is to drive to the airport and park your automobile there while you are away. Where can you park? Is it a un-hazardous car park? And what form of car park do you book?
On that point there are a few essential types of airport parking: Onsite parking, offsite parking and meet and greet / valet parking. Onsite parking is reasonably self informative. You park inside the airport grounds, and either walk or get a short shuttle bus ride to your terminal. This is very favourable, a main point here is that you are nearby to the airport, and know precisely where your car is going to be left for however long you are away.
Offsite parking requires parking your car at a car park usually a few miles away from the airport, and selecting a transfer bus to the terminal. This is much cheaper than onsite parking, although of course this means more fuss when having to get to and returning from the airport, there are cases where you must leave your car keys behind for your car to be parked by a car park attendee. Not all vacation takers are happy with this scenario.
Meet and Greet / Valet parking has become a fad in recent years, and is an extremely common means to park your car at an airport and relish your airport lounges access. Essentially, you contact the firm shortly before you get to the airport, and are greeted by a chauffeur who will then take your car away. When you get back from your trips, you give them a call, and they greet you in the arrivals lounge ready to give your keys back. Fantastically handy and a great way to get your trip off to a perfect cheap start, but you’d expect to pay a tidy premium such as for the service.
