Until recently, gaming laptops were traditionally custom built by select companies. They were low volume sellers and large profit producing products. They were the kind of laptop that everyone wanted, but the cost didn’t fit in their budget. Plainly being so state of the art they were the best laptop computers in relation to power. I would get seriously excited by them but I knew I could not go out and buy laptop computers at the prices they were going for. These days things are really contrasting with larger companies also making gaming portables.
Just envisage how much profit these manufacturers would be generating particularly when using their economies of scale. Its certainly a good way to higher gross profits. Additionally they can use their large marketing spend to entice consumers further into parting with their savings or bringing out the credit cards to buy laptop computers like these ones. I have no idea what this will do to smaller retailers but it will have a detrimental effect on them. I express this due to the fact that the technology which was once exclusive and high priced is now mass market. Customers just feel much more at ease making a massive purchase from a familiar name.
I think its a joke that because it comes with the brand name they are carelessly perceived as the best laptop computers. In my point of view the smaller retailers essentially act on this if they are to exist. This is a large selling feature that must be said. This kind of purchaser is usually well versed in the technology and is able to compare the specs. The fine point are of great significance for this type of person.
As a possible consumer myself this is indeed all a positive development for me. This should act to make the newest technology even more accessible for the consumer. Who can say what will happen. I am in fact not sure anymore. New technology releases should prolong high prices. The larger companies have already launched their own gaming laptop line, so all we can do now is stand back and observe.
